Insurance & Payment Options

Los Angeles Therapy Institute insurance and payment options

At Los Angeles Therapy Institute, we believe quality mental health care should be accessible, transparent, and affordable. We work with many major insurance plans in California and offer flexible payment options for individuals, couples, and families seeking therapy.

Our licensed psychologists and therapists serve clients across California, with in-person services in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Bel Air, and Orange County, as well as telehealth throughout the state.

Insurance Plans We Accept (In-Network)

We are in-network providers with the following insurance plans:

Aetna
Anthem Medi-Cal
Health Net (Commercial & Medi-Cal)
Carelon Behavioral Health
Cigna / Evernorth
UnitedHealthcare (UHC)
Optum
Molina Healthcare
Traditional / Straight Medi-Cal
Blue Shield Promise

Being in-network means your sessions are billed directly to your insurance, often resulting in lower out-of-pocket costs, such as a copay or coinsurance, depending on your specific plan.

Because insurance benefits can vary, our team is happy to help you verify your coverage and understand your mental health benefits before starting therapy.

Therapy for Medi-Cal Members in California

We proudly accept Medi-Cal plans, including Anthem Medi-Cal, Health Net Medi-Cal, Molina, Blue Shield Promise, and Traditional/Straight Medi-Cal. If you are looking for a therapist who accepts Medi-Cal in California, our clinic offers compassionate, evidence-based care for adults, couples, and families.

We understand navigating Medi-Cal can feel overwhelming, and our administrative team is here to support you through the process.

Out-of-Network Insurance & Superbills

If we are out-of-network with your insurance plan, you may still be able to receive partial reimbursement for therapy.

Sliding Scale Therapy Options

We also offer a limited number of sliding scale therapy slots.

What is a Superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes diagnosis and service codes required by insurance companies. You can submit this document to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits.

Many PPO plans reimburse a percentage of session fees once your deductible is met. While reimbursement is not guaranteed, we are happy to provide superbills and guide you on how to submit them.

What is Sliding Scale Therapy?

Sliding scale fees are reduced rates based on financial need, income, and life circumstances. This option is designed to make therapy more accessible for individuals who may not have insurance or whose coverage is limited.

Availability is limited, and sliding scale openings may vary by clinician.
